A destination like no other

In search of some warm winter wind? This November, we’re running another kite trip to one of the greatest kitesurfing spots this side of the equator, Dakhla.
A flat water lagoon offering warm, waist deep water and steady side shore winds, this trip offers perfection for beginner and intermediate riders wanting to progress, and freestyle shredders wanting to nail some new moves.

Located on the edge of the Western Sahara, nestled between a dramatic sand dune landscape, Dakhla embraces the laidback Moroccan culture for a relaxing holiday experience with enough wind to kite from dawn through to dusk.

The small town, based on the tip of a rugged peninsular, has recently been invaded by kitesurfers excited to make the most of the unique spot. Now a regular stop on the World Kitesurfing Tour, Dakhla’s flat water lagoons are just a short walk from the various rustic surf camps. It’s varied water conditions, enclosed environment and close proximity to peeling surf breaks, make Dakhla perfect for riders of all levels, offering something for everyone.

Set up and run by ex-professional rider, Soufaine Hamaini, Dakhla Spirit has become famed for its casual atmosphere and adventurous attitude.

The accommodation of choice for pro-riders visiting Dakhla, it’s a simple and rustic settlement focused purely on kiting and the needs of kiters. Centered around a communal lounge & dining room guests are housed in miniature bunglow cabins which, whilst having no extra frills, offer a bed, wash room and everything needed to recover before waking up to the next full day on the water. Run with a true passion for kiting and the kitesurfing lifestyle ‘Spirit’ is a basic resort with plenty of space to relax or enjoy a party atmosphere at the bar. Salt water pool, yoga room and gym can be enjoyed too, no small feet when in the middle of the desert. All on the door step of possibly the worlds best flat water kiting.

With such a variety of conditions right on the camp doorstep, the local riding opportunities are endless.

The main spot, the lagoon, is just 20 steps from bed with warm, flat, waist deep water and a steady 20 knots of wind. For kiters looking for a little more adventure, there’s a selection of sandbars, bays and butter flat locations we’ll be exploring, all of which are just a short ride or cruisey downwinder away. For riders who prefer a wave, a 30 minute drive to the other side of the peninsular, which boarders the Atlantic, offers solid surf when the swell is pushing.

Throughout the trip, our coaches will be on hand every session.

Keeping things relaxed but pro, Chris and his team will schedule daily workshops to check in and get some advice, then on the water offer continued motivation and support. So whether you want to learn something new or perfect that move you’ve been working on, you’ll finish every session a little better than you started. The crew will always be on hand with helpful hints to improve progression and a watchful eye to make sure everyone is reaching and pushing to their full potential.

Novices are welcome with our beginner support sessions.

Offering a higher level of novice tuition for those who require a little more hands on support, our experienced team will be running daily support sessions focused on developing kite and riding skills with the aim to gain independence and quickly join the rest of the riding pack.
Running in smaller groups with a more private feel in the quiet end of the lagoon there's a surcharge for this extra which will certainly pay off as progression is guaranteed.

If you think private training might be best for you, 1:1 sessions can also be arranged.

A gREAT trip is more than just kiting the same gOOD spot.

That's why we’ve got a mix of kiting and non-kiting activities planned through the days and nights.
With 2 weather driven activities planned for the daytime we might hit a downwinder, explore a hidden secret spot, go for a surf, check out the local town, or go for a wakeboard, which ever is right for the time.
After sun down we've got things covered too, and appreciating everyone in the group's different we'll keep it cruisy and varied, but expect lots of good times. Whether its around a bonfire, a dance floor, a games table, or propping up the bar, we ensure to set up all options.

If all that’s not enough, Dakhla has plenty of other activities to get involved in.

These will be at an additional cost but if you want you to experience something special, or if the wind arrives a little slow and you’re itching to do something, we’ll happily arrange them once you’ve arrived, at a time that suites the group.
