THERE’S A BEAUTIFUL SPOT FOR EVERY WIND DIRECTION
ISLE OF WIGHT
Just a short ferry trip over the Solent, the Isle of Wight, or ‘The Active Isle’ as it’s becoming known is a UK paradise for action sports. Just 26 miles wide with a variety of beaches all the way round, it’s a super chilled throw back to simple times. With some local knowledge of the beaches, tides there’s a bunch of amazing wave and flat water kite spots which we’ll be exploring.
WHERE WE’LL KITE
Around the Island is 8 main kite spots which all work in different winds and tides, offering up a choice of flat water or waves.
In the East Wight, the shallow shelving beaches of Ryde, Seaview and Bembridge are ideal for flat water freestyling in North and Easterly winds.
On the South West and South East coast is Yaverland, Brook and Compton, which offer predictable beach and sandbar wave breaks.
On the North West side, Colwell and Thorness offer flat water riding.
We’ll be checking the forecast and aiming to hit up several sessions each day across the Island.
WHERE WE’LL STAY
Nodes Park campsite offers the best views of Bembridge on the Isle of Wight. And we loved it so much before that we’re heading back again.
Beach walks are just minutes away with direct beach access.
At the end of a fun-filled day, head back to the park to enjoy a cool one with the crew.

There’s plenty of day and night time action on the Island to keep things interesting.
