AUGUST TOUR STOP - PORTLAND HARBOUR
Preparing for our next UK tour stop. We're excited to see wind on the forecast again. A little busier on the roads being August, we're not going to venture too far, and hit one of our favourite Dorset freestyle spots - Portland Harbour.
Expect butter flat water, steady off shore winds and ideal conditions to push riding limits and try some new freestyle moves. We'll be heading down on Saturday morning, riding all day, camping local that night and riding again all of Sunday.
We'll have demo kit and we'll be running freestyle and foiling coaching clinics too.

Riding inside Portland harbour, downwind of chesil bank, in the day we'll be based from Billy Winters cafe care park. From here you can free ride, chill, try new kit or take part in an advanced coaching clinic.
In the evenings we'll be camping at Martleaves Farm Campsite a short drive away.
We'll run you through local considerations on arrival if you're new to the beach, just make sure to arrive before our coaching clinic starts at noon to get some help.
Also read on to find out how to pick up your mandatory harbour permit.
Not much to say about getting there, just head for Billy Winters car park, located on the causeway between Weymouth town and Portland bill.
Parking is easy, but make sure to bring cash for a pay and display ticket and a local permit - they're hot on fines.

We'll be staying at the Martleaves Farm Campsite, located a 10 minute drive from the kite beach.
The campsite is very well situated with plenty of space and good facilities, please note they do not have electric hook up pitches.
It's dog and child friendly, Dogs are charged at £1.50 per night and must be kept on a lead.
Vans are charged at £25 a night and tents are £12.
You will need to call them on 01305 819383 or 07785 565 059 (after 10am) to book in, simply let them know you are with the Poseidon kitesurf group.
Portland harbour is located on the downwind side of the Chesil bank, which connects Weymouth to Portland bill. The prevailing wind blows squeezes between the land masses, over the bank and out to sea over the harbour, making the water flat calm, even in strong winds.
At high tide the water is deep, at low tide it's shallow for around 200 meter out.
Due to the nature of off shore winds we'd recommend a riding ability of upwind riding as a pre requisite to join us. This weekend's forecast is looking like around 14 knots, so bring big kites, but local knowledge tells us it's likely to reach closer to 18 knots and be good on mid sized kit.
Being a controlled harbour, every vessel must pay harbour dues, this includes us kiters.
Permits can be purchased daily or annually. You can buy a permit from local shop - 109 Watersports - 1 mile from the beach. Just pop in and see Callum on your way down and ask for a kite permit, he'll ask to see your BKSA insurance card, give you a wrist band, then you're good to go.
Being perfect for free styling, we'll be running some advanced freestyle coaching. Looking at everything from first jumps, to advanced unhooked moves, Chris will be on hand to help you progress onto the next level. Starting with some land drills and technique break down, sessions will quickly move onto the water for hands on action and help.
Lasting around 3 hours sessions will start at 1pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
The cost to get involved is £70/75 per session.
Read more about our advanced coaching here.
Simply let us know in advance if you'd like to join.
We will have a selection of demo kit from Ozone kites and Axis boards available for trial including the Zephyr, Enduro, Edge, C4, Division, and Liberty.
(Tom from Ozone may be joining with more kit for trial too.)
