Preparing for our next UK tour stop we're stoked to see a decent wind forecast again.
Eager to change things up a little, this trip we're chasing the swell, leaving the crowds and heading west to a favourite spot of ours on the Gower peninsular, South wales.
Hitting Rhossili bay, expect wide open, uncrowded beaches exposed to the raw Atlantic swell. Possibly not beginner friendly, this is a road trip for riders comfy in the deep, but don't expect anything too gnarly, Rhossili and the Gower is all sandy beach breaks, suitable for first time in the waves on a twin tip and on its day a famous wave break on the hit list for down the line shredders.
We'll be loading up and setting off on Friday evening, camping right at the beach ready to get 2 solid days of riding at a couple of different kite spots.

Based from the award winning Hillend campsite, Llangennith, we'll be sleeping literally a walk from the perfect 3 mile long kite beach.
Working in all tides and winds from the S, SW, W & NW, it's pretty much a free for all play ground to get out and make the most of as much as you can.
We'll have demo kit, will be running coaching sessions and making the most of every moment we can on the water.
There are a few things to know about the location and our weekend plan, so just join one of our site briefings at the bellow times:
Saturday 8am - The Poseidon camping area.
Saturday 10am - The Poseidon camping area.
For the slightly more adventurous riders, on Sunday we'll be looking to guide a trip to a little secret spot we know accessible a short kite from Broughton beach, a 15 minute drive from Rhossili, more about that over the weekend.
Not much to say about getting there other than noting that it'll be a very worthy 4 hour drive from Poole. It's not very public transport friendly, but we are offering seats in our shuttle van if you need a ride.
To find Rhossili simply follow the M4 west over the servern crossing (£6.70 toll per vehicle), coming off at the Gower and heading towards Llangennith. Hillend camp site is directly at Rhossili beach.
Post code: SA3 1JD
Poseidon car share
As usual, we are offering seats in our Poseidon wagon, leaving Sandbanks on Friday evening and returning on Sunday night.
We'll be able to pick up from the Poole area, Shaftsbury, warminster, Bath and Bristol, with plenty of space for kit.
People wanting a ride will simply need to pre book in with us and prepare to be independent on the site, bringing their own tent, food, cooking kit and kite gear.
The cost for a return seat in the shuttle is: £35
We'll be staying at the award winning Hillend campsite, located a 2 minute walk though the sand dunes to Rhossili beach.
The campsite is very well situated with plenty of space, good facilities, a small shop and on site cafe.
The cost is £25 per night per pitch
(a pitch consists of either van / car and tent)
Unusually, they do not take pre bookings, you simply need to arrive and check in, they do request we arrive before 10pm, but will take arrivals up until midnight.
They're quite strict with rules, and request you read info here.
Also note that dogs are not permitted on the campsite. So people looking to bring their 4 legged friend would need to sleep at Kennexstone campsite, a short drive from Llangennith and join us on the beach for the day (a beach car park located adjacent to the beach and Hillend camp site).
Rhossili beach and Hillend campsite is located about 1 mile past Llangennith village, whilst the village has a small surf shop, pub and local shop there isn't much else in the way of provisions, so we'd recommend pre stocking up with everything you might need.
Due to the terrain, location and weather forecast expect it to rain, so pack waterproofs and changes of clothes.
The location is an area of outstanding natural beauty, surrounded by hilly ranges and open beaches, so expect to take a walk or 2.
Due to the hills the phone signal is likely to be a little bad in certain locations.
You won't be needing vehicles for the daily kite sessions, but our optional planned excursion on sunday will require a short drive.
On this trip we'll be running 2 advanced coaching sessions:
Entry to surfboards and the surf
Saturday 11 - 1.30pm
A cruisy and supportive session to help you gain confidence and skills in the waves and/or on a directional surf board.
Advanced wave riding techniques
An action packed clinic focusing on pushing your limits in the surf, developing wave reading & knowledge, before improving top and bottom turn techniques.
Clinics will follow a format covering beach basics and equipment preparation before moving to the water for practical demonstrations and on water coaching.
Equipment is not included.
The cost is £75 per person per session.
We will have a selection of demo kit from Ozone kites and Axis boards available for trial including the Enduro, Edge, Reo C4, new wave and free wave.
Tom from Ozone may be joining with more kit for trial too.
A long and wide beach accessible from Broughton Farm campsite, please note as non residents we will need to park outside of the campsite
